Can you believe it’s less than two weeks to go until Christmas? I’m on countdown now until the children break up from school at the end of the week, and I am hoping to take some time off and have some festive fun with them. It’s also time to think about what outfits you will be wearing over the festive period, one of my favourite tasks – as I love putting together an outfit and Christmas is a great time of year for this.
Once again I am excited to be working with Cotton Traders who have sent me some gorgeous pieces from their winter collection to try out.
If you are after some last-minute gift ideas, I’ve also got a few ideas for the clothes lover in your life below too.
Layering Your Look
Are you a dress-up or dress-down person when it comes to Christmas day? I am most definitely in the former camp. Give me dresses and sparkles every day of the week. Although there are days when you want to combine a bit of sparkle with warmth and comfort too. A great way to do this is by layering your look this festive season.
On a cold day, a jumper layered over a dress is the perfect combination and it also transforms your look at the same time making a dress look a little bit more casual, but still very wearable. Adding a block of colour or even a fun slogan changes it up and gives your outfit more of a relaxed feel. You can also switch things up by swapping in a leather belt and a pair of chunky boots.
I find layering a great alternative when I want to dress up a bit, but don’t want to go all out and just feel a little bit more cosy and a little bit more comfortable.
For this outfit here I am wearing this beautiful satin shirt dress from Cotton Traders, paired with their essential crew jumper in candy and their black leather jeans belt.
The satin dress could also be super glammed up too perfect for a party or new year, add some sparkling jewellery, strappy heels and you will look fantastic.
Gift Ideas for Clothes Loving Woman in Your Life
If you have a clothes-lover in your house (like me) it an feel a bit daunting trying to them a Christmas present. A little tip is to check their wardrobe if you can to find out what size they are, or alternatively, you could just ask. I would rather my husband ask than end up with some clothes that are two sizes too small. I also send him some link ideas of items I am loving at the moment to give him some inspiration. If in doubt go for a gift voucher, but I do love a fabulous surprise too.

Here are some ideas to give you a bit of inspiration:
