One of the real downsides of social media can be k One of the real downsides of social media can be keyboard warriors or online bullies, who leave comments on things that they would never say to your face. Unfortunately, this can be a sign of success, but it can be really hard to manage and experience.

I want to fiercely say bullying is NEVER ok, but it can be a sad reality. So what do you do if it happens to you? I am a fan of not feeding the machine. However, if you have thick skin, you can ignore them, let them comment and feed the algorithm. But often people can find the comments upsetting and let’s face it they can get personal.

There are a few things you can do to protect your space:
- Blocking and deleting is one
- Setting up filters on your account, so certain words don’t get approved
- Limit who can comment (for example only people who have followed you for a certain period of time)
- it’s also ok to decide that a platform is not right for you

I have got so fed up with comments before, for my own headspace, I deleted the post. I literally could not give it the energy anymore and this was a way to take the stress away.

Your mental health is always more important.

Have you experienced unkind comments?

I need to get this off my chest! I’ve seen peopl I need to get this off my chest! I’ve seen people posting - I need a social media manager, maybe a teen at college can do it… or I don’t need a social media manager my assistant can just do some graphics on canva 🤦‍♀️

Social media management is not an admin job. Perhaps you could argue the scheduling part is. But the brand building, community building, strategy, content planning, copywriting, content creation is far from an admin task. It’s a task someone with experience of marketing, social media platforms and strategy.

Perhaps it may feel like an admin task as part of your day job. I do understand if it does. But true social media management is a skill.

I have worked in marketing since 2003, and in the last two years alone I have spent 4+ figures on training to upskill myself. And even more on video equipment for content creation. I am passionate and love what I do and absolutely love working with my clients.

Thank you for letting me get that off my chest!!

What is the one thing people say about your job that you hate?

Do you know when I was making this reel, I had a b Do you know when I was making this reel, I had a bit of a falter about sharing these stats. Like it might be a bit icky. And then I had a pause, so often women shy away from promoting themselves, like we should apologise for it.

I realised I had to practise what I preach. It’s ok to promote your business to show what you do. To be good at what you do. So I am showing up, to show you that it’s ok to show up.

And if you want help showing up, feel like you’re flailing a bit with your social media. I’d love to help ❤️

I never get the mindset that it’s ok to follow a I never get the mindset that it’s ok to follow all the celebs, but your friend’s business is less cool or maybe even a bit cringe (hate that term).

Your friend that owns their company own business, they are working super hard. To grow and build something all by themselves.

The money they earn pays for food, after school clubs, school shoes. Not another house or yacht.

It costs you nothing to like, comment, share and lift each other up. Your friend will be so grateful. Help them shine and grow this business to what it’s meant to be 🙌

HE WON A SILVER PRIDE OF BRACKNELL AWARD!! Thank HE WON A SILVER PRIDE OF BRACKNELL AWARD!!

Thank you so much to all of your wonderful good luck messages yesterday. I am so very proud of Logan. Last night was a wonderful evening and such an experience. What an amazing achievement for Logan… all the emotions.

The Gold winner was an incredible 8 year old who has set up a food bank in his school, a massive congratulations to him too. Logan went straight up to him, shook his hand & gave him a fist bump and said how well deserved it was.

So proud of the kind and compassionate child Logan is growing up to be. For winning this award. Kindness matters so much in the world right now. ❤️

Special thanks to Jem @brew.coffeebar who got some of the photos & videos for us & who also won an amazing award herself 🙌

When two people with ADHD try to follow a simple s When two people with ADHD try to follow a simple set of instructions… 😂🙈

On a serious note, both Emma @emmacossey and I @laura_summers are both late diagnosed women with ADHD. Emma in her 30s and Laura in her 40s.

We know what it’s like to run a business with a neurodivergent brain. But we also know a traditional workflow doesn’t always work for us.

We love collaborating with other ND freelancers — because together, we build systems that work with our brains, not against them.

Well love working creatively, having fun and probably ignoring instructions…

Here’s to messy brilliance, mutual understanding, and a LOT of Post-It notes!

Give us a shout if we can help you make something work in your business or social media.
