It’s just 5 days to go until the big day, can you believe it? As I type I am not in anyway ready. I have presents still to wrap, a house that looks like a whirlwind has run through it and mince pies still to bake. But I know somehow, some way I will get there. But right now, I have an important question to ask you… what do you wear on Christmas day? Are you an all day Pjs type of person, or a dress up in sequins because it’s a great big festive party type of person? I am somewhere in between.
I can’t wear pjs on Christmas day, I just can’t. For me, I buck the pj trend and they are for bedtime, when you’re feeling unwell or very occasionally I will put them on in the evening when I am just flat out exhausted. So I just can’t bring myself to wear them on Christmas day, even if Santa brings me shiny new ones. However, I do love a new pair to go to bed in on Christmas night.
For me, dressing up is part of the joy of Christmas. I am real dopamine dresser and Christmas day is no exception. It’s in my opinion, one of the best days of the year, so why wouldn’t I want to spend it in lovely clothes that make me feel good?
My Tips for the Perfect Christmas Day Outfit
So the perfect outfit for Christmas day for me is a combination of glam and comfy. I’ve been kindly gifted this outfit from Cotton Traders and I think it will make a superb Christmas day outfit choice. This shirred print dress is a fabulous print, but also so soft and comfy to wear. If you wanted to style it differently you could piece add a belt to cinch it in at the waist. The shirring at the bust is flattering without it feeling restrictive, especially if you know you’re going to be eating a bit meal at some point during the day!

Now Christmas day wouldn’t be Christmas day would it without a festive knit? I know people can be nervous about combining prints, but I think if you do it well it can make for a really interesting and bold look. Christmas is often cold, sadly it doesn’t look like there is any snow on the horizon this year, but a cosy knit is a wardrobe must at this time of year. I have teamed this dress with red Fair Isle cardigan which is gorgeous classic design than I know I will wear for many Christmases to come. It will also look equally as great with a pair of jeans or dungarees. Red of course is also a classic Christmas colour.

For a final sparkling, finishing touch my outfit would not be complete without a pair of fun Christmassy earrings. I bought these fun tinsel ones from Etsy and they are perfect for parties as well as the big day itself. And that’s it I am all set, a perfect combo if glam and comfy. So tel me, what is your go-to Christmas outfit?
