Who is Laura’s Lovely Blog
I was tagged by the lovely Donna from What the Redhead Said to answer some fun questions all about me. It’s just a few questions to help you to get to know me a bit better, so here goes…
When was the last time you cried?
Ooh good question. During my first pregnancy I cried quite a lot but I haven’t been too bad during this one. I’m finding it hard to pin point an exact time. I’ve been quite poorly in this pregnancy and I am pretty sure that the last time I cried was being fed up about being unwell again which also meant I needed more antibiotics and steroids, which I was also concerned would affect the baby.
If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
Yes I think I would, we would both like the same things! I like to think of myself as a kind and caring person. I like to help people and my friends are important to me.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Not really, I used to more in my 20s but I guess I just grew out of it really.
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
I’m not sure about this one. I guess their style as I do love clothes, although I would never class myself as a fashion expert. But more than anything I think people’s words and the way they treat others speaks volumes.
Scary movie or happy endings?
Happy endings every time. The world needs more happy endings.
Favorite smells?
Hmm a tricky one as lots of smells are making me feel nauseous at the moment. Freshly cooked bread, the smell of a cake baking, smell of a roast dinner and that newborn baby smell. Can you tell I’m pregnant with those ha ha?
What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?
When we went to Canada in 2011 when I was pregnant with my oldest Logan. It was an amazing holiday.
Do you have any special talents?
I’m a classically trained singer, but I have to admit I am quite rusty at the moment.
Where were you born?
I was born in Hammersmith, London.
What are your hobbies?
Well blogging takes up quite a bit of my time! But I love to read, the cinema, going out for a meal with family or friends and going on holiday is my favourite thing of all.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Oh it varied all the time. I think the main ones were an actress, a teacher or a writer. I know now I would be terrible at the first two and I’m doing the last one.
How many countries have you been to?
Now you’re testing me! Let me see France, Spain, Ireland, Canada, Barbados, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Portugal and do Scotland and Wales Count?
What was your favourite/worst subject in School?
My favourite subject was English which I then went onto to a degree in. I have always and will always love books I think. My least favourite were PE which I viewed as a weekly torture session, seriously schools should find a way to make it more interesting for less sports inclined or self concious children. And Science, I cheered when I finished my last ever lesson and laughed when the teacher suggested I do an A Level in it.
What is your favourite drink?
Diet coke, I am a real diet coke and have set myself a daily limit. I am also seriously into tea when I’m pregnant – not so much when I’m not. And partial to the odd glass of Prosecco or Pinot Grigio.
What would you (or have you) named your children?
I have two children. Logan aged 6 and Aria who will be 4 in May. Baby number 3’s name is still as yet undecided.
Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?
I’ll be honest and say I’m not really into YouTube. Does that mean I’m getting old?!
How many boyfriends have you had?
Not very many, my now husband was my first love and here we are still together coming up on 19 years later.
Favourite memory from childhood?
I’m not sure if I could isolate just one. I have awesome memories of playing on the beach on holiday, with my cousins, with my neighbourhood friends games of football, hide and seek had, riding our bikes and going to the park. Board games with my family and building a den or playing dolls or libraries or just a plain old water fight in the garden with my sister.
How would you describe your fashion sense?
I’m a big wearer of denim and I love a leather jacket. I also love a bit of boho and maxi skirts and dresses are my wardrobe staple in the summer. Boots in the winter and Birkenstocks in the summer.
Tell us one of your bad habits!
Stuffing things into cupboards instead of tidying them up properly. Buying far too many handbags and muttering under my breath when people (my husband) has annoyed me.
And there you have it – a bit more about me. Now, to tag some other bloggers who might like to take part. I tag Natalie from Hello Cuppies, Angela from The Inspiration Edit and Becky from Pinks Charming.
I’m still in complete awe that you’re a classically trained singer, it’s just amazing! I’m also a Diet Coke addict… I’m currently only having one a week… I’m being good! ha… but there have been times where I can’t stop drinking it. Thank you for the tag, I’m looking forward to this one x
I loved reading this. Thanks for the tag! Exciting!
Some great questions there. Amazing that you are a classically trained singer. And so lovely that your husband was your first love.
What fab facts – I love learning random things about people. Also the horror of doing a science Alevel, no wonder you laughed!! Thank you for the tag I will get my thinking cap on! Xx
