Jammie Dodger Oaty Bites – A Healthier Snack for Children
Do you struggle to come up with healthy snacks for your children? I always find it’s a balance, between something that is tasty and filling and something that is healthy. Enter a new snack in town the Jammie Dodger Oaty Bites. Made with wholegrain oats and raspberry fruit pieces, they contain absolutely no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives, hydrogenated fats, GM ingredients or sweeteners. They are also suitable for vegetarians.
NHS Change 4 Life recommends that children have two snacks per day of 100 calories and at 116 calories the Jammie Dodger Oaty Bites hit the mark. They are designed to be a healthier biscuit snack for children aged 3-5.
Now the important part, do they taste nice? I can wholeheartedly say they have been a hit with our entire house. They may be aimed at children under 5, but my son 6 loved them as did the adults in our house!
Regular followers of my blog will know that Aria has a cow’s milk protein allergy. However, she has been doing quite well at the milk ladder and can have things with cooked milk in. The Jammie Dodger Oaty Bites do have dried milk powder in, but this is fine for Aria and she hasn’t reacted to this at all. Which is great news.
These are a really tasty snack, that are a great size for chucking in your bag when you’re out and about. I would also say they are a good choice for after school too. A definite winner our house.
