What Is Your Perfect Bathroom & Why I Don’t Like Baths
Have you seen those beautiful bathrooms you seen in magazine adverts and televisions? They have these amazing waterfall showers, jacuzzi baths and are a stunning oasis of calm. They always look so fabulous.
For me while my bathroom could definitely be improved, it always tempered with a dose of realism. My obstacles are space, money and well, children. In those fabulous bathrooms there is never any space for a rubber duck or the bucket full of toys my children always insist are needed for bath time.
I also have a bit of a confession to make. I don’t actually like baths that much … the whole candle, soaking in bubbles thing. Not for me. I just kind of get bored, or wish that I was actually in bed catching up on the sleep I’ve missed instead. Although if I had a jacuzzi bath that might be a different story!
I like a shower, for me it’s about getting clean, not relaxing. When I am groggy and tired in the morning, nothing beats a hot blast of the shower to get rid of those cobwebs. I also would so love to try one of those showers with multiple shower heads – they look amazing.
We’re actually hoping to move house this year – life and money permitting. So you never know what might happen! I also rather fancy an en-suite. A little bathroom that is child free. A little duck free oasis. In my dreams this would have my amazing shower in and would have clever storage solutions to keep it looking fab. If you’re looking to decorate an en-suite or small bathroom yourself here are some small bathroom ideas you can try.
I also am quite taken with this mural idea on the bathroom above. Maybe not this exact design, but a white bathroom with a simple focal mural would like quite stunning. Depending on the size of the room.
If I were to write my bathroom wish-list it would look a bit like this:
- Easy to clean (obviously)
- Multi head power shower
- Great storage
- Beautiful tiles, maybe a mural
- Big fluffy towels
- Heated towel rail
- Jacuzzi bath
- Gorgeous backlit mirror
What would be in yours?

Your bathroom wishlist sounds pretty awesome. I would love a huge bathroom with an amazing view I can gaze at from the bath and one of those massive powerful showers. Oh, and someone to clean it for me!
Ha ha yes definitely someone can clean, particularly if it has lots of glass!
I love the idea of a mural, but I also love the idea of a big bathroom. One with easy space to have both a shower and a bath.
I think a mural would be really pretty. I like the idea of a big bathroom as long as it’s not at the expense of the rest of the rooms.
I absolutely understand you and feel the same about these fabulous bathrooms that everybody dreams about. One of the most important things for me is to have a bathroom that is easy to clean. That means that a bathtub is not included in my perfect bathroom. I am saying this because I have a bath and I hate cleaning it. The only nice thing about it is that the kids enjoy playing in it! Thanks for the post!
I would have to have a bath tub as my husband loves them and as you say the kids love to play in it.
