Let me firstly say, Rachel who I am partnered with Let me firstly say, Rachel who I am partnered with most of the time here, and I are very good friends and actually enjoy hitting each other 🤣

Just before Christmas I passed my 6th martial arts grading, and I knew it deserved a post. In the last 18 months, from when I walked into my first class, my life has changed quite dramatically. I never expected it to lead me here.

Why am I sharing this? Because as women for too long we have been told to ‘just do cardio’, or we’re too old, too much, and for so long I told myself I couldn’t do these things. I was in my 40s I would just hurt myself. And I guess there is always a risk of injury (hopefully not), I’ve certainly hobbled around some days after training walking like Mr Burns!

But my life has got a whole lot richer, I am stronger, more flexible, I can lift weights and super importantly defend myself if I ever needed to (again hopefully not!). I hate the narrative that women as ‘past it’ after 40, because it is such utter rubbish. Depsite big surgery, I think it’s my best decade. I am coming into myself, I know who I am. I am braver and stronger (mentally as well as physically) and I love the life I have.

Not all of this has come easily, please don’t think that. Sometimes I took a few steps back, sometimes I got scared. But I am sharing this because if I can help just one person doing something they hav always wanted to, but been too afraid to. Then my work here is done.

A special thanks to @simonobrien2020 for all his help

I recorded this reel this morning, and since then I recorded this reel this morning, and since then X has stated they will stop their AI from making indecent images in the future (quite frankly it took them long enough). But here is why I have decided I will no longer use X as a platform despite it being the place where I actually have the most followers.

Are you still on X?

I know there are a few of you that hate it, but if I know there are a few of you that hate it, but if social media is part of your 2026 plan - it needs to include video. There is no escaping it any longer.

If the idea of turning up on video sounds unbearable or you just struggle to fit everything in (I get it on both counts). This is what I do. I help small business owners and entrepreneurs just like you get in front of the video camera. And my goal by the end of it is that maybe you’ve laughed. Or maybe you feel just a bit proud of yourself because you have shown up and put yourself out there for your business.

I offer content creation or full social media management as well as email marketing, marketing support and strategy. Don’t hide away in 2026. You and your business deserve better.

Do you have a word of the year? This year my word Do you have a word of the year? This year my word is Bloom. Because last year I worked really hard and built some amazing foundations in both my personal and work life.

I worked hugely on my fitness. I also had some amazing growth in my business and started to build a team. I have watched my children grow and face new challenges with bravery, and my husband started a new job.

And now all of these seeds have been sewn and the roots are set into the ground, I am so excited to see and help everything bloom 🌸

I want my health to bloom, my business to bloom, my husband and children to bloom and grow, my team to bloom, friendships that matter so much to me to flower and bloom. And so I landed on the word bloom.

Tell me what is your word and why?

You may have noticed I took a little break of the You may have noticed I took a little break of the Christmas period. But here is a little reflective reel on 2025. There were so many clips I could have put in, it was hard to choose.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing, my husband losing his job took us a bit by surprise (grateful he has a new one now). But 2025 was a year of growth for me. I have undergone a huge fitness journey, and it’s transformed my life. My business has grown and I now have a fabulous team.

I have collaborated with some amazing women and businesses. Enjoyed so many joyful moments with my friends and family. Watched my children grow, a special mention to Logan winning a Pride of Bracknell award.

As always, I am grateful. Thank you to all who has chosen to work with me, it means so much 🙏❤️
