It might not seem it at the moment with the glorious 30 degree temperatures we’re experiencing, but autumn is less than two months away, and of course before that comes the start of the new school term. I don’t know about you, but throughout the school year my children seem to seem to come down with cold after cold it can be a case of tag as they pass them on to one another. I know it’s because their immune systems are still developing, but it can be a miserable business.

And while my two haven’t had colds for a little while, they have both very much been suffering with the high pollen count which has caused them to be quite bunged up at night. Sometimes it’s hard to know what to do to help your littles ones when they’re all congested.

Tackling Colds and Congestion with Colief

Colief, the makers of the famous colic drops for babies have launched a new product just for this purpose. Their new Breathe Easy Patches are made from all natural ingredients – eucalyptus, peppermint, rosemary and lemon oils which are naturally antibacterial. Each packet comes with 6 patches, which last 8 hours. You stick a patch onto your child’s pyjamas at night to help them with their congestion.

Given that both Logan and Aria are really suffering with their hayfever at night, they both decided to give them a try. The patches are meant to be worn on clothing, near the chest area and at least 30cm from your nose.

Both children were quite excited to try out their patches at night. It was like I was giving them a special sticker for being good! They both noticed the peppermint smell straight away and Logan said that it smelt like posh toothpaste. They both happily went to bed with them on and both said how much they liked the smell. I have to say it was quite pleasant and I rather liked it.

The pollen count was very high the night they tried them out and they both said the patches helped their noses feel better. So I will definitely be keeping some in for the next time they have a cold. The patches come off easily in the morning and I like the fact they are made of natural ingredients and no chemicals.

Colief Breathe Easy Patch is suitable for children three and over, and is available from selected branches of Lloyds Pharmacy, Superdrug, Holland & Barrett and Independent Pharmacies. RRP £5.99 for a pack of six individually wrapped self-adhesive patches.

*Disclosure: We were sent the Colief patches for the purpose of this review and compensated for my time, however, all opinions are my own.
