About Me

About Laura’s Lovely Blog

Welcome to Laura’s Lovely Blog. A UK, parenting, lifestyle and book blog. I started this blog originally in 2010, before re-launching it in January 2015. I’m a wife, mother of two – Logan (October 2011) and Aria (May 2014), as well as a freelance writer and blogger.

This blog is an expression of things I love and my life. Being a mother, the journey of which has changed me forever. I have a very, very big weakness for handbags, I cannot tell you how many I own in fear that my husband may read this! I also adore lovely, lovely pretty things. Who doesn’t?

I can be opinionated and like to blog about popular culture and issues that are important to me. Some serious, some more light-hearted, from TV to feminism.

Books, Books, Glorious Books

I am also a huge bookworm, and was an Editor and reviewer for Book Chick City (Top 10 UK book blog) for 7 years before it closed down. My bookish love has continued as I am now Books Round-up Editor for BritMums and you can find me writing over there each month. I also run a monthly linky all about encouraging children to read.

My Family

I live in Bracknell, Berkshire with my husband, two wonderful children and our crazy (40kg) Rhodesian Ridgeback Florence. You can read about my fitness and food obsessed husband each with week in his weekly column which features recipes, training tips and his views on fatherhood.

My Career

For over 12 years I worked in digital marketing, either for in-house as Marketing or Ecommerce Manager or agency side as a consultant advising retail brands on their digital strategy. I am lucky to have worked with some very big UK brands throughout my career. In December 2013 I decided to take a career break and focus on my young family (you can read more about that here). If you would like more information on my professional marketing career, please check out my LinkedIn page.
