Meet Aria

imageHello everyone – I know it’s been a while since I have blogged. Nearly 5 months in fact, since the arrivals of my daughter Aria. I can’t believe where the time has gone, cliché as that may sound. I’m sorry I have been totally rubbish and not written anything sooner! 🙂

Life has been a bit crazy with a toddler and a newborn, but as always I am blown away by everyone’s comments. My last blog post was written the day before I was due to go in for an elective section for my daughter. I didn’t even know (but had a slight suspicion) it was a girl at the time.

But, my very beautiful daughter Aria was born on the 21st May, weighing a rather whooping 11lbs! The C section was much better than I expected, I did haemorrhage, but only 1 litre this time and the recovery time was much better than the first time. Good thing with 2 babies to look after!

I mentioned in some of my blog comments that Aria was suffering from colic, well it turns out that was a bit of an understatement. She is now diagnosed with a cow’s milk allergy and silent reflux. With lots of diet changes by me, as I’m still breastfeeding and on the right medication she is now thankfully so much happier. Our worst week before we got diagnosed, I was averaging 3 hours sleep a night and she veered between crying inconsolably and feeding all the time, to not wanting to eat at all. I’m so glad my little girl is happier now, because her smile is the best thing!

Over the last 3 weeks I have also got my evenings back. Selfishly, it is wonderful to get a bit of me time back. No longer pacing with an unhappy baby in my arms, which is so lovely on more than one count, it also gives me some time to do a bit of blogging too.

I will finish this blog post with a special mention to my son, who is of course now a big brother, but also turns 3 tomorrow! Children really are an exhausting, patience testing, wonderful blessing! 🙂

  1. Oh what a BEAUTIFUL little girl and I love her name! Congratulations. I can’t believe that she weighed 11lbs – that’s almost twice the size of mine!
